Need some help, first the needed facts. 75 gallon tank with built in overflow. 2,300 gallon per hour turn over rate. tide pool 2 sump. 0 ammonia o nitrite, 10 ppm nitrate. Now the problem, I switched from a 38 to a 75 2 weeks ago. From day one i have been getting the famous microbubbles in the tank, i shut off all flow, (powerheads, skimmer return) after 2-3 hours i still have microbubbles in the water column just suspended , it is not any type of detrius, or dust or anything like that it is micobubbles that will not go away, when i turn on all flow there is NO bubbles coming into the tank from the sump and return. It must be something in the water gases carbon deoxide or something,, any ideas to this problem as i am writing this it has been over three hours with no flow in the tank and i still have thousands of tiny tiny bubbles suspended in the water.i know people get micobubbled from the flow but no flow for hours and still suspended bubbles that wont rise to the surface there is something going on here..... any ideas???

Let me know if an intense green algae forms. It reminds me of pond scum, and can even float like it. I had the micro bubble problem, they went away after 6mo, I still don't know what was the cause. I did learn about this green algea that seems to use the bubbles to reproduce, do you have bubbles accumulating on any LR?

probably phytoplankton photosythesizing oxygen. But O2 is already saturated so you see micro bubbles excaping to the atmosphere.

might be just bubbles escaping from the sand/rocks after they were transfered to the new tank. this happened to me, but went away in a very short time. If there are no microbubble coming from the return then it is definitely inside the tank causing them.. I would wait it out for a litltle while

The bubbles are probably being released from when you moved everything into the tank. Your LR can trap air underneath it and inside it for a long time even months at a time. I know sometimes when I move a rock bubbles come out from underneath it even after a year of having it in the same place in my tank. Did you add any new rocks or anything new to the 75?
