I am looking for an inexpensive solution to add moon lighting to my reef and control it with my ACJR. I would imagine that any LED that has a DC to AC ballast would work. Please throw some suggestions my way. I'm looking to light a 4' x 2' tank.

The least expensive is probably few watt incandescent night light.

I bought this for $39. It turns on and off with my ACII. It has a dimmer on it and I am not sure if you can dim it with the ACII.

you cant dim leds using ac ac2 or ac3 or anything that changes the line power.. it burns out the ac adapter..
but icecap is comming out with a solution soon ( leds that can be dimmed based on line current)

I used a string of old Christmas lights and put in blue bulbs, the larger ones, I can't keep it straight if the are 7s or 9s?

I just cut the string to the length I wanted stapled them to a 1/4 square strip of oak and taped up the cut end with electric tape. They have worked great for me and dim with the controller.

overstock.com has a nice set that i got for around $35, small about 6 inches, sticky stuff on the back. works great, but not dimmable, i don't think.

Do you mean the "old time" bulbs that everyone had when we were kids that are about 1" long? I like this idea. It is a good solution until they come out with a LED that the AC can dim.

Yep, that's the ones I mean! I had some old ones laying around, and if you find any at a garage sale, they are basically free! And, you can still buy bulbs for them.
