i just bought a RK2 and was wondering if this would be too big of a load on the RK2.
-Sedra 9000
-Quiet One 4000
-Gen-X 40
-2x250 watt MH
-2x65 watt PC
-1/3 hp Arctica Titanium Chiller

-would i need an expansion socket?
-What channels should i be putting things on?

Add up how many watts everything is and then divide by 120.. If it is less than 15A, you are fine.

If you did have to get an expansion socket, then I'd definately put the chiller on one. And the MH would be good on one too.

Are you talking about the CB on the unit or the home CB?

If you are talking about the CB on the unit I would guess you have two possible things happening. You are real close to maxing out the unit and if you have an item that starts up hard, uses more than is indicated on its tag, less than perfect voltage coming in or a combination of these it would do it. If you need an expansion PM me.

bkbailes07,

The RK2 can handle 1800watts. Is there a specific time when you have noticed the breaker trip? Have you been able to note what component came on that may have caused it to trip? That’s where I would start trouble shooting!

You are maxing the unit out and need to get an expansion unit for either the chiller or the lights. You can order direct from the factory or from the dealer you got the unit from

One thing to note is that the Expansion Socket alone will not stop your breaker from tripping. You may need to remove the chiller from that circuit altogether. You can still control it via the RK2 using the Expansion Socket. But the goal is to remove/isolate that part of the system from the breaker/circuit in the house.

I sent you a PM.
