can you post pix of your equipment room? i am trying to figure out the best layout for a new few hundred gallon system.

It really depends on how much room you can spare for an equipment room. Mine is about 12'X14' if that gives you an idea.

thanks for the pictures. i too have access to the 55 gallon blue barrels. i was thinking of using one for a surge device in the closet next to the tank.

what is yours used for?

good point about the space. i will have my bay in the garage under the tank for fish stuff. my wife will park her car on her side and i will park my fish stuff on my side.

i can have drains and outlets and stuff. we are remodeling and adding the garage and the room over that will house the new aquarium.

another question. how do you like your ocean motion? i can't seem to locate one.

I use the 55g barrel for mixing fresh SW. The surge idea is great, but they do create a lot of bubbles. I like the Oceans Motions but it does stop working if it gets the littles piece of sand in the drum. It is a well built piece of equipment and I would buy another one.

pyro383, very nice equipment room. Is the vent in the ceiling for an exhaust fan? I just added one to my room and it made a huge difference in the humidity/temperature and it also lowered my tank temp by 1 degree.
