I am thinking I may have to raise my skimmer about 4 inches in my sump. Has anyone attempted this? How have you done it? I am thinking of possible using 5, 1.5" pieces. 1 under each pump, and 3 under the skimmer body. It is an H&S 200x2-F2001. The link to the page with the skimmer on it is:http://www.finsreef.com/home.php?cat=253 . Any and all ideas will be considered.

eggcrate works well.

Problem is that I believe it will weigh too much for the eggcrate. The skimmer probably holds 3+ gallons on it's own. That with the weight of the skimmer would probably do in eggcrate. Maybe if I were to use it as a table and use the pvc for legs. I am also wondering if I will have circulation problems due to the pvc. I originally though of using tupperware, turned upside down and drilling 1/2 inch holes in the side. I was told it would not work, but without any real explanation. I could even put a small powerhead inside the tupperware to circulate water and not let any dead spots start.

I had to raise my EV-180 about 5 inches up in my sump, and I constructed a small frame out of PVC pipes, and used a 1/4 inch sheet of acrylic as a tabletop on it. It works perfectly and keeps great circulation through it, no dead spots.
