MORE INFO

Special thanks to "DaJoker" for volunteering the use of the facility. I will go down there tomorrow to check out the layout and figure out a setup for the meet. I invite everyone to bring in whatever they wish to TRADE or sell. Remember bring your own tables.

We need at least 4 presentations at this one.

Wayne are you still up for the Tunze Maxi-Jet mod?
I have had several people ask about this and I think it will go over great!

"LtPiper" has put together a tank feeding demo.

I will be going over the basics of starting a reef tank, this will be the first part in a series of discursions geared toward the beginning reef hobbyist. I will also be updating everyone on the newest CVRC group project to recolonize the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans following last years near destruction by hurricane Katrina.

Jason will be bringing in the Frankenskimmer for a close up viewing and demo on how he created this monster. Jason will also update us on the new PRT II.

We will be fragging a rare coral which we will raffle off as usual with other door prizes if all goes well.

We can house over 100 so lets get everyone there and fill this place!

Everyone that is going to sell frags please let me know here so I can arrange room and power for you.

Also for those wanting to trade feel free to arrange your swaps here.

Feel free to bring in any aquarium related equipment you might want to get rid of as well.

As always, those wishing to donate door prizes please bring in physical merchandise or gift certificates only.

If you have any frags left over at the end of the swap we will get rid of them for you, THIS WILL NOT BE AN AUCTION but you will get some good deals if you are looking for frags for your reef tank.

NOTE:

If you have any coral(s) which you wish to have fragged please let me know and we can make arrangements to frag it/them for you there as part of a demo. YOU MUST let me know here beforehand so I can prepare before the event and I ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE INCURRED TO YOUR CORAL OR SYSTEM FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE. I have had about a 97% success rate with coral propagation from day one but things happen as all tanks and systems are not the same, those who know me know my reputation speaks for itself on this matter. That said if you have a colony that is outgrowing it's home, post here and we will figure out what and how best to proceed .

I think that about covers it...

if not feel free to ask.

Thanks and we will see you there!

Yep

Kind of Ironic it will be at a funeral home I guess but I swear that was 100% coincidence. We can have it this month or not, makes no difference to me guys. The original meeting was scheduled for April I asked if May would work when we had the problems at the Californian and everyone was fine with that.

If we delay it will be at the end of June.

It's your call guys just let me know ASAP.

Count me in, I plan on being there unless something unforseeable happens. BTW, I would like to arrange some trades beforehand if anyone is interested. I am mostly looking for SPS or LPS frags. You can look through my gallery and see if there is anything you are interested in and I will let you know if it is available.

I'll have a little bit of random stuff. Some Zoos, palys, shrooms. Nothing fancy. Maybe some blue with pink bullseye zoos.

Belive this... Little to no Xenia!!!

Hey Ron the A/V stuff is available for us that weekend. I'll also have my laptop if anyone wants to do a powerpoint and doesn't want to use theirs, all I need is either a disk or a USB memory stick.

Did you have us down for a table?

coralreefer
05/19/2006, 11:01 AM
Ron go ahead and put us down for a table space.

Don't know for sure what we'll be bringing right now except for a couple different mushrooms.
Maybe a couple kinds of star polyps too depending on what JimsReef gets when he comes over. If anybody is looking for something specific ask.

Does anybody need chaeto?

firefish2020
05/19/2006, 04:45 PM
No did'nt have you down Lana you got it if you want it.

wvdaisy
05/19/2006, 10:22 PM
I want it. We bring our own table right?

Amy, love the cat pic!! Too funny! BTW the chaeto is doing great, thanks. See you soon.

I would like some candycanes of a diff color. Isn't there pink? Would love to have pink. That's about it for my wishlist this time...I don't have room until we send corals to New Orleans. Was going to have all those corals for sale at the meeting but would rather help out the aquarium.

Does the laptop have a XD card reader or do I need to bring mine?

brian@sen
05/23/2006, 05:40 AM
I have USB, CD/DVD, and a PCMCIA card slot but I do not have a XD card reader. Sorry you will probably need to bring yours. Does it have a monitor jack to hook it up to the projector?

I'm sooooo disappointed. I've waited months for another meeting, and you have it on a holiday weekend.

I am bummed.

Yeh you can thank the Californian for this delay, after that incident it took this long to find a new place. Plus we can only get our Audio/Vid equipment for the end of the months. Most didn't want to wait till the end of next month for the meet as that would have been about 4 months between. Fear not there will be more and you will make it to those :)

I'll be doing a race at Little Creek park on the day of the swap. :( However, it is nice to finally have a local race. I've been driving around 300 - 400 miles most weekends to race this year. Thirteen races down though, only about ten to go. :D

Sorry I thought you were asking if you should bring your own laptop not the card reader when I asked about the monitor jack. If you want to bring the card reader I can connect it to my laptop for your presentation and have it ready for you. If you bring the card reader you might want to bring the software that came with it just in case.

Ok we went over and checked the place out for any ghosts just to be sure there wouldnt be any problems.
(Im not joking)

That reading is probably due to an errant electrical field,
pay no mind to it :D

Seriously though,
Bring power cords and lights if you have them, as there is enough power there for everyone to use for a change.
