I am just wondering if any information about an orange and black clownfish pair. I have seen them before and am wondering if anyone has any pictures. I am looking at getting a black occie or perc and an orange occie or perc. Would these be okay together.

They should be fine, Do you mean the true percs? They are that color and are usually sold as pairs since they are mates for life.

just a little FYI, there is no such thing as an all black A. percula. they are commonly confused with A. ocellaris which is the all black variant. (A. polymnus also has an all black variant). if you are going to do a different pair i would go with black and orange A. ocellaris, that way they are both the same species and would pair up easier.

Hybridization is difficult, since it is difficult to pair different species of clownfish, but it can be done. But remember, there is a difference between a hybrid, two different species mate together to produce a subspecies, and a color variant, two of the same species mate together and the offspring is of a different color.

If you read this amazing thread, you can see a truly unusual hybrid. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=609538

I have had a mixed color pair of A. ocellaris for over three years now. They are not a hybrid as they are the same species, just different color morphs.
