I finally received my other parts for my calcium reactor besides the ARM media (back ordered) and I'm tring to figure out how to hook it all together. theres 2 hoses that I know have to be an "in" and "out" for the water flow. If I'm right the one down at the bottom would be the "in" and the one on the top left cylinder would be the "out"?? now how is this thing feed? by gravity?? I did a run with it in the bathroom and the water wasnt flowing through it unless I had the bottom line higher then the top line. so If I'm understanding it right the line at the bottom gets feed from the tank and the top left tube would empty into the sump?

most have small pumps. You can gravity feed it if you like, but make sure you can control the output.

should I put a valve on the in or out? or does it make any difference? I would have to assume on the "out" but never know. lol

Thanks

Put a micro ball valve on the "out" side and control the flow from there.
Here is a good read:
