Hey all,

I have never been diving and want to learn SCUBA and see a real reef. Any recommendations on where to go? I can take 1-2 weeks time off, but cost is an issue. Suggestions on getting started, where to go, and info to check out are very appreciated!

Thanks,
Jason

For a good time and that is in the US try cpt slates (FL). If you are going out side the US and does not cost alot try something in Bonaire or Curaco. That is my suggestion.

Many community colleges offer basic scuba classes. The cost varies, but here in Dallas, Texas the class was $60.00, plus a lab fee of $50.00 that covers your rentals for the six week class. This price is about half the price the local dive shops charge.

Go to San Juan Puerto Rico...lots of good dive sites from beginner to advance. Here PADI have a promotional price of 2x1.
