fish scared of live food

Has anyone ever had fish that are afraid of any live food? I don 't add live food, but I have lots of pods. The amphipods seem to be particularly scary to them. Anything that floats ie. detritus, they taste, but if it is alive they hightail it out-a-there! I used to have a dottyback that ate the live stuff, but my maroons, coral beauty and firefish (all I have now) won't touch it. If they do take it, they spit it out right away.

I wonder what kind of amphipods you have. There is one that is a fish parasite.

In general, firefish are pretty selective, picky eaters: a lot of things float, they taste, they spit, and they lurk, waiting for feeding time.
