what do u guys think about the panworld pumps as a return? Im thinking about replacing my Dart, since there is no pressure coming out of my 4 locline returns.
I have a 180 gallons with 4 - 3/4" bulkheads going to loclines. Do u think the 150PS or maybe the 100 px?
Are they quiet and relible pumps as a return?

Any pressure pump has higher db than a low speed pump like sequence. Even the sequence customer service rep. said that the larger sequence pumps are quite a bit noisier than the low speed reef flo pumps because they run at a higher speed.

The but is you really get nice pressure and power with pan world pumps, Iwaki, genex. you can even consider the eductors (available at aquatic ecosystems), to increase water flow.

Also how about a simple tunze? Seems expensive but considering what they do it is really cheap.

I have been running the Pan world 100 PX-X for about a year now, I really like it, runs quite and cooler than the previous pumps I have used

Panworld pumps are very good pump in my opinion.

For the electric power it will use I think your are better off going w/Tunze or another low power draw pump in the tank

I have a couple of pan world pumps. Good pumps, very comparable to iwaki, but with an exciting yellow housing! haha

Don't try to create all of your flow with the return pump though.

One possibility might be to get a pan world 100, maybe 150, for the return, and run that dart on a closed loop.

The only thing I see is you are going to lose a lot of flow. Dart push out a lot more flow than the panworld

Not if the flow is restricted...Dart's can't handle much head pressure....

I think that is my problem. Plumbing restriction causing my Dart to restrict the pressure.
Now what is the difference from Flow and alot of Pressure coming out of the nozzles?

Not nearly as much as people think. If you push a dart through 1 inch plumbing, on no head, you're down to like 1800gph. Lockline? Way lower. On a return? Forget it.

That panworld is going to be a big increase in flow. If he runs eductors, we're talking a ridiculous increase in flow.

I think they are good pumps, but I don't think they put out as much under high head pressures.

For instance, I calculate about 20' of head pressure on my tank. I'm using a Panworld 250, which is rated up to 40+' of head. But, subjectively, the flow seems low.

Not sure that was much help, but I would recommend getting a bigger pump than you think you'll need, and build in a diverter in case it is too much (rather than restricting the output).

I have a Panworld 100PX-MD40R and so far love it it's ample flow to return to the main tank and feed my refugium in my setup (basement sump)
I have 2 Seio 2600's in the display for water movement there so this is not to take care of all that....
