Ok, Has anyone ever tried to make a Peltier cooler? For thouse of you that do not know what that is Click Here (http://www.heatsink-guide.com/peltier.htm)
It is the technology the ice probe uses. I was thinking of attaching one to a small ice chest that would fit behind the aquarium, fill it with water, put a small pump in it to circulate the water, and somehow attatch the Peltier to the cooler to drop the water temp in the ice chest and then have a lot of tubbing coiled up in the ice chest on a closed loop from the aquarium.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I dont know how effective that would be for cooling an aquarium...
Energy wise, The amount of Pelts probably needed, might as well use a chiller.

I did this several years ago mixed with water cooling for an Overclocked AMD cpu, Peltiers get very hot on one side and if your not keeping it cool you will cook what ever is on the cold side. Usually to cool a peltier your talking copper plates, heatsinks and high CFM fans.

I think there would be a lot of work involved and could be quite dangerous to your system...
