I have had my black durgeon trigger for about a month. he is very shy and stays in a cave.

he is the most beautiful fish i have ever had in any of my tanks. he will come out every few days & eat & make one swim around the pond & go back in his cave.

my salfin tang turns black chases him but it doesnt seem to bother him when he wants to be out. he is about 10 inches.

any experience with these fish? thanks

Yes, lots of expereince. They are shy at first, if he is new. If he is not new then something may be wrong with him as they are very outgoing fish once acclimated to captivity. The ones we have never stop swimming. One is in a 1500 gallon cylinder and he is about 14 inches and the 2 others we have are in a 3500 gallon. They are awesome fish..... They seem to really love krill, mysis and nori. As being planktivore triggers they seem to prefer the mysis the most...

I don't have a tremendous amount of experience with them, but the one I have now seems to be a little more aggressive than the average pinktail trigger, which isn't too bad. There was a store in Houston that had a couple that were around a foot long; they looked fantastic.

thanks. he came out & came up to me this morning.

The side of his face is very swollen & seems to have a sore on it. he jumped out of the pond last week but was saved. i dont know if a fish bit him or this was from that incident.

he likes silversides but i will give him some mysis. his mouth is small so the big shrimp i have been giving him maybe too big.
