I currently have a 22 gallon cube that is similar to the more popular cubes on the market today and it came with 2x24 PCs stock.

Today I have a 150w SunPod being delivered.

What will be the best way to acclimate the corals to the new light since I cant raise the fixture over the water higher than what the legs will allow?

The best way I've found to do this is as follows:

Get some fiberglass or nylon screen door material.

Cut it into sheets that you can layer (5-6 should be good).

Remove one sheet per week. Or double the amount of layers and remove one every 3 days.

That seems really effective, but quite a bit of work. :D

For the lazy way, you can just run actinics all day and slowly turn your halides on for longer and longer each day.

Really? Constantly adjusting your timers per day seems like more work to me than removing a sheet of screen every few days, but my timers might take a little more effort to adjust them...

eh...

i ran 96w pc over my 29g tank and recently switched to a 250w 14k halide.

i did no real light acclimation and nothing appears to have suffered.

i was running the pc 12 hours a day and run the mh 10 hours a day.

on my 29 i started off with halide one hour for 2 days, next 2 days were 2 hours, i did 3 hours for 2 days, then each day went up another hour

day: hours:
1 1
2 1
3 2
4 2
5 3
6 3
7 4
8 5
9 6

That method (pink floyd's) is what I was alluding to. It takes me two seconds to adjust my timers, so yes, I suppose it's really dependent on your setup.
