i emptied the collection cup last night before bed and this is what has collected as of lunch time.

skimmer has been doing this steadily for the past couple of weeks. it finally seems to be working right (imo).

is this about what others are seeing? look about right?

Looks like you're running yours too wet. Lower the water level in the skimmer some.

mine either wet skimmed (way too much) or didn't skim at all for about a month.

then i modified the output slightly and within a week i was getting the dark nasty stuff regularly.

i haven't had to adjust the dial at all for the last two weeks.

Looking at that stuff makes you wonder how a tank would run without a skimmer!!! Gross!
