AC went out in my House! Now i can't run my lights!

So my AC went out at my house, and wont be fixed until Weds. I cant run my lights because the temp in my tank would be to high as well as the whole house. Do you think my sps would be hurt with out any light for 3 days?

It will be fine. You can always turn them on for 2 hours a day, perhaps at night when the house is at its coolest. What is the outdoor temperature in Tempe?

Reverse your day-night cycle if you get good desert coolth at night.

I wasnt sure if the reversed cycle would shock the corals or not. The day time temp in AZ gets around high 90s and its not even the middle of summer yet!!

Ummm it gets dark for days at a time in the oceans too ya know..storm and cold fronts blowing through, hurricanes and so forth. Two or three days with reduced lights aint gonna hurt em.

Since your live in a relatively dry humidity area if you can blow a fan across the surface of the water. The evaporation effect can cool you water by 5 degrees.

If you have enough space in your sump, take liter pop bottles, fill with water (leaving expansion head-space) freeze, and set in you sump - rotate as needed - this will temporarly cool your water

It would be fine until wednesday. Most corals, etc can go fairly long periods of time without intense light. Mine ran for a week without lighting during the hurricane (didn't lose anything).
