I'm curious as to how many of you are using them, and if so, are you using them to the fullest capacity..?
I took over a maintance accoiunt of a seriously neglected 180 a couple of weeks ago, with the stipulation that the entire system be completely torn down and rebuilt to my specs... About the only item that I considered to be optional was a Lighthouse Controller, which would obviously allow me to monitor this system remotely.
While waiting for the unit to arrive, I decided to go ahead and keep this one for myself, and currently have it linked directly to my reef club site (www.nea-reefkeeping.com) for other club members to be able to monitor and watch my parameters. As soon as a 2nd controller arrives within the next few days (for my client) it too will be linked to our club site. Due to the ability to monitor our systems remotely, there are now 2 or 3 other members of our club that are SERIOUSLY considering adding a Lighthouse Controller, and also linking it to the same {TANK MONITORING} page within our website.
For our club at least, this should be a very unique and somewhat educational experiment, that allows each of us to closely follow what the other members are doing. We feel this will help us to resolve issues that arise with tank problems in a more timely manner since we'll each have immediate access to parameters and graphing trends, as well as to enable us to grow as a closely knit reef club that is only a few months old.
