View Full Version : Material between acrylic tank and stand

Just want to know what is recommended to be used between an acrylic tank and the stand. The tank bottom will be about 54" x 20". Please let me know what you think is best and where you can get it.

insulation styrofoam, available at any home improvement store nationwide.

anyone have a link from home depot or lowes of what this stuff looks like and brand. Also how thick it needs to be.

I don't have a link, but you can't miss it. It usually is 1/2 thick and comes in a big 4 x 8 sheet. I will be either baby blue or pink. Just go the the insulation isle. You can't miss it. Cheap too. If you can't get it into your car, just break it in half in the parking lot! :)

Any special way to attach the form board to the stand?

do you already have the tank?
if not. then dont get it. acrylic scratches way to eaisily ( i just found a new scratch on mine and no one has even been near the tank!)

if your custom ordering it where are you getting it from?

anyway
the foam you want to use is really dense and usualy a pinkish or yellowish color
