Hey everyone, I found one of these at an LFS here...it basically looks just like the normal blue hippo except...yeah, obviously the lower part is not so much blue as a pale color with a yellow tinge, leading back to the yellow tail. However, I've been able to find almost no information about this fish. Is it simply a less common color morph of the standard paracanthurus hepatus (latin spelling kills me but its something like that) or something different.
My Desjardinii sailfin keeps trying to kick his ***, but the little guy doesn't seem to care...he keeps riding the current from my Maxi-stream, its pretty entertaining to watch.

I have seen those two. Its just another color variation of coloring. Id be a little concernd about the sailfin tang attacking him.

There are the just the same as a regular blue hippo, but with the yellow underside usually you can really tell til they get bigger.
Not trying to flame you but i hope these two tangs are not for your 55?

As stated above they are just like the regular blue tang except as they grow larger the belly becomes yellow. They come from East Africa.

It was $80. Right now, the belly isn't very yellow, just a tinge, but its definitely not the uniform blue of the other variety.
Yoboyjdizz fear not, they will be going in the 240 just as soon as its ready.

these guys range from 85 for a small to almost $200 for the biggest ones, which isn't too bad when some LFS are selling the big blues for $150+
