For those of you cooling with fans.

How long did it take after you installed the fans before you noticed a difference in temp. I just installed 2 fans today and they've ran 4 hours with no difference yet.

It depends on a lot of things, your indoor temperature, the size of your fans, the size of your tank and where do you blow your fans to.

Inside temp is 80*, 1 fan blowing across the top of the tank, the other blowing on the sump. Tank is a 75g. 4 hours and the tank was still running at 88*. Woke up this morning though and overnight it droped to 81*... I guess it just takes awhile.

The sandbed and rock hold heat longer than the water does. It takes a while to cool them down. They will then conserve that coolth as they conserve heat. That's how you can even things out day to night.
