I have a question about my crocea- In the picture you will notice a ledge on the rock in back of the crocea. It has grown to the point that it is sort of wedged against this ledge. Should I chip away at the rock, or will the fact that the crocea is a boring clam allow it to grow into this part of the rock? I've read they emit some enzyme or something that eats away at the rock. But is that only on the bottom, or can they bore into the side of a rock also?

My browser won't let me see the pic, but croceas a rock clams. Bumping into one will not hurt it at all.

Theclam might have moved there to help it stay put. I would leave it be, if the clam gets uncomfortable it will move.
The clam wont grow into the rock.

I agree. Leave it be.
