You can dismantle it and you can have the exit positioned wherever you like in relation to the pumps.

Here you can see how precise is the positioning of the pot. All laser and CNC work.

Nick,
I'm curious if it is possible to order a custon size NS4000? I was hoping for a taller skimmer, around 32 inches tall. Also how big is the inner tube? Thank you

Wow,
I can just say this, "ELOS equipment if left in a surgeons operating room would be confused with their equipment; simply the cleaniest filtration system to hit the reefing market."

Hi Mike, thanks for the comment. We take great care in producing a product range which is not only good but also beautiful, with a clean design but even more important very easy to use and maintain.
This is why our equipment look very clean and simple in design.
Jim, the 4000 is 65 cm high (25 inches) and the inner chamber is 11 cm (4,3 inches) with a larger lower part.
We do not produce custom made skimmer, for the moment only custom made filters and aquariums.
Ciao

Just out of curiosity, why only 4.3 inches on the inner chamber, why not the same diameter as the bottom part? A 25" tall, 4.3" diameter skimmer seems a tad small. What is the MSRP? Don't get me wrong I love the quality of your products but this skimmer, with those dimensions will probably have a hard time in the US market. It's too bad because I was looking forward to this skimmer being released.

Hi Jim,
with skimmers, reactors, filter our target is to produce "Small and flexible equipment that works well". Designing the NS4000 the target for our technicians was about the same: to produce a relatively small skimmer capable to treat up to 4000 liters of water using our patented TDJ system, easy to use and flexible as our other skimmers.
And from the comment we have got from our testers it seems that we have achieved our target.
The NS4000 have proven to be a very efficient system, very very easy to tune. It permits to achieve skimming performances normally available on bigger skimmers using standard injection. It is easy to tune, small enough to be used under the aquarium in a dedicated sump, easy to position thanks to the possibility to rotate the injection with respect to the exit, easy to clean thanks to the particular system to position the pot, flexible, thanks to the possibility to use different pumps and it produces a fine fine and dense mixture inside the reaction chamber.
Of course we could have used a bigger internal chamber, but this would have means bigger pumps and than, more consumption and obviously a different size of the exit tube.... finally a different skimmer, probably suitable for bigger aquarium.
Don't under estimate that the TDJ (almost unknown in the US yet) is a very efficient skimming technique that permits to use relative small and quiet skimmer achieving the same result available on bigger and noisier skimmer.
I'm sure that when you'll try it, you'll realize these and what may now seem to be a negative point, hopefully will become its real PLUS and will give us the chance to have good selling results also in the US.
Regards
Nick

That skimmer is rated for 879 gallons...! Are there any reviews that I can read from users in Europe? As far as the tube size is concerned, I would think that 2 Eheim's could easily fill a cylinder twice the diameter without having to upgrade pumps, but you're the expert. I just buy them, I don't build them. I would love to see one in action on a large established reef tank...

Don't forget that it is an injector based skimmer.
Regarding users, the skimmer have just been introduced to the market but not yet distributed. The first batch will leave our warehouse in the next few days... some are already packed to "jump the pond" on the way to to Jesse.

I am trying to understand the acronym TDJ?
How does the collection cup stay in place? I understand the wing nut bolts keep the internal column from rising or shifting.

The acronym is something that I have noticed before but never asked. It is for the top down injection but I do not know what word they are using instead of injection starting with the letter j. Funny, I will ask about this. The collecton cup simple rests on the top of the body on an o-ring. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I took one of the 2 NS4000 that I have in the states to a friend who is also a photographer and I will post pics from this soon. There is also a piece on the output that is not shown on the picture above and I do have a video from it working at Interzoo to give people an idea of how it works. If you are interested pm me or email me and I will send it over. I will get those pics up as soon as I have them.
