just wondering what type of acrylic is used.

is it treated for glare? which reduces light reflected back into the fixture.

if so, is it coated single or double sided?

thanks again,

fishyfather

Fishyfather,
The splash shield is actually a special polycarbonate sheet by GE Polymershapes. It is lighter then acrylic, scratch resistant, has excellent light properties so more light goes through the shield, and acts like an insulator to help keep the heat away from the tank.

Thank you,
