Recently I picked up an "aquarium" from a local. I was resealing it when I saw a half torn sticker that said this is a terrarium!!! The glass is as thick as a 29 gallons (the aquarium is 36x18x17"). I was wondering if I added a center brace if I would be able to use it as an aquarium?

NO
I would never use this, I have heard MANY nightmare stories about this.
Get a real water tank

If you add a center brace and you are re sealing it, I dont understand why you wouldnt use it.
It would still hold water, and with a center brace you would make it a tank.

You can buy 29 gallon tanks for next to nothing and even though 29 gallons is not alot on terms of this hobby, I can assure you it is quite a bit on the floor. Why risk it?

I also agree with the price issue, what does one invert or sps cost. How much time does it take to clean up a leaky tank?

I believe terrariums are not tempered for strength and water pressure will crack it.
