First off I have a 55 gallon FOWLR w/ 50lb live rock, 30lbs argamax sand and 20lbs live sand on top. What would make my PH so low? It's running 7.8, the water im using test at 8.2 but my tank test at 7.8 whats up with that? Should I add a power head or air pump w/ diffuser? Whould an air stone do any good? I have not seen many saltwater tanks with air stones in them why is that? Any way thanks again.

Are you using tap water. If so some water companys use a strong buffer to keep the water at a 7.0 neutral ph.

What do you have now for water movement? Even though it's a fish only tank you still want decent flow. Not sure if that's going to account for the low pH but it may account for a less than ideal environment for the fishies.
