I had the same thing years ago in my tank. Grew pretty fast and big, I would trim it back once in awhile. After a couple of months it just died off never to be seen again.

Sargassum.. if its on a small rock i would just remove it to either your refugium OR take it to the LFS and maybe get store credit for it (after it grows a little bigger).. OR keep it if you like it..

are those air sacs I see?? If so, definately sargassum.

Beautiful.. keep it, let it grow, they are awsome algaes... and look really natural!!

Sargassum would never had guessed thanks for the identify one and all.. Have two spots it is currentyly growing wasnt really till changed the flow in the tank then BAM!!! it really sprouted..
