Well I don't have a reef tank to show, so I'd figure I'd post something. Currently I have some Blue Poison Dart Frogs (Dendrobates azureus), and these guys are pretty small at about 1". I have a pair maintained in a 10 gallon tank, and they really like it. Anyways, thought you guys may enjoy some pics. 8)

Cool frogs! I have been considering and reading a bit about red eye tree frogs.

Not to hijack the thread, but what do you guys think in terms of the red eye tree frong being a feasible species to keep healthy in captivity? Assuming an appropriate setup how much maintence (cleaning) is typically required?

CodeToad - I would try and visit http://underthecanopyfarms.net , I think they have a caresheet. I don't have any experiences with RETFs, so I would recommend you do a google search on their care.

Thanks. The Azurs. have alway been one of my favorites. Just never got around to getting a pair.

tjhallock, my fav would be that last photo. The pose of the frog is nice, but perhaps a less centered composition would be even better. Placing the frog at the left 1/3 would give some negative space to the right for the frog to "look into".

Beautiful frog by the way, I love frogs, but don't see enough of them here in Sydney. I found two in my swimming pool a while back, I think they like allt he grassy bits nearby.

love the poison dart frogs!,always wanted to keep them, wish i could get them over here! i have a proserpine carpet python instead though.

I've always heard that the care required to keep PDF (Posion Dart Frogs) has given them the nick-name "land reefs". Do they require that much attention and care? Are they really that hard to keep?

I'd say 'No', they aren't that hard to keep at all. The biggest struggle I had was occasionally losing the Fruit Fly cultures to mold or the heat. Frogs themselves were extremely simple other then that. At least as far as my experience. I unfortunately no longer keep them since we had my youngest daughter. Had to give up the cabinet space to her supplies and not the cultures. :-(

Oh well. She's worth it. And she loves the reef tank anyways so now I have another excuse to buy more stuff for that tank instead. I'm sure I'll get more Frogs in another year or two when she gets a bit older and can help.

Also, I always have strong Dendrobates azureus froglets for sale for $40 each. Here are some I have now. Just PM me if anyone wants to get into these guys.

Beautiful Imitators! I had them years ago and would find eggs on the glass all the time. Never got them to hatch though.

Those are all VERY cool frogs!!

I don't keep frogs, but we found this one outside, took pictures of it and let it go again. I think it lived on the side of our house for awhile. I believe it is a bird voiced tree frog.

I just wanted to say, you guys' frogs are awesome! Man, I love these things. I don't know which one I like the best. I had no idea people were keeping them. I thought they were too poisonous or something. I've read about them all night. Is there a forum you guys use to talk about them? I came across dedroboard.com. Those guys really know their stuff. I'm really interested in them now. Great pics too. This was the first time I ever came to the photography forum on RC.

I can see getting into this down the road. thanks
