Nick,
From your post and pictures I would say it's time to replace your MH bulbs. 8 months is just about the time to start looking for signs that it is time.
Thank you,
Tom

Thanks Tom - I believe that pic is the way it is because the left side has whiter rock up higher at an angle that it throws more light up than the left side - I just realizede - yesterday I took photos directly at the lights bu turning it on its side and saw no difference with between the lights. With your unit, the fans really pull/puch put the air - would this make a lnonger life? I am not so sure now that these bulbs are fast approcahing needing replacement quite yet - but I do run them 12 hrs (just shifted to 11 hours) so maybe - all things considred they do not have that long

Nick,
If you haven't noticed any changes in your corals then I wouldn't worry just yet. Typically you can get about 10 months our of a MH bulb, but every bulb is different. The best thing now is just to keep an eye on your corals and maybe start planning on buying replacement bulbs.
Thank you,
Tom
