what do i keep running ? do i have to run my closed loop ? and skimmer, and uv , also how about lights thanks, and how do i feed my bacteria?

why fishless for six weeks?

anyway I would keep everything running as normal

He is probably attempting to run his tank fallow as a treatment for fish parasites.

I would run everything as you always do. You may not be keeping any fish, but you don't want to shut down your entire tank. This will keep your tank in good condition and ready for the first addition.

Don't worry about your bacteria populations. They will not suffer.

Pinch of Formula 1 flake a day, just as if you were cycling. Meanwhile you can run a fishtank barebottom in your qt, and be sure the fish that go in are ich-free.

thanks guys sorry i forgot to say it is fishless because ick wiped out over 1000.00 of my fish , a dam purple tang i put in got me , i have to get a large tank to qt because my fish are show size , this tang was about 6 inches and the last fish i was going to keep it was my 5 th and last in my 400 gal and the bastard killed everyone includeing my 10 empore

I would krep everything running as usual. Also it's wise to have a Q tank running and cycled for new additions as well as for trating sick fish in.
