got a small piece of rock with some watermelon mushrooms on yesterday (don't know sp. sorry)
noticed some aiptasia on the rock this morning :mad2:

would it hurt the mushys if i did a fresh water dip on the whole rock?
seems the easiest way to kill the aips to me

dont do that, the aps can be taken care of with peppermint shrimp or Joes juice or several other options. cut it with a razor if you can until you get something. mushrooms droop and perk up constantly. if the aps was alreadt there it would have been a problem when you bought it. what are your parms? how old is the tank set-up? REEF-ON!!!

the aips are tiny, maybe 5mm or so long. they are on the bare side of the rock, so not affecting the shrooms yet.
i know a shrimp would work, but it's a bit excessive for 3 small aips on 1 piece of rock. lol

if the fresh water dip is a no no, i'll try some lemon juice first.
if that fails i'll go for the old peppermints i think.

are you saying that i cannot dip mushrooms then?

where r u located - a small pack of cal - which is food grade lime i.e. kalc will do the trick.

I get Cal from Latin market for about 70 cents a bag.

Mix with water to make a nice thick paste and spread/squirt onto Aips turn off blowers and let it work.
I had really bad problem; liiks like I was raising them. Got some nudibranches and mostly aip free.
