I am lookinmg for help is sizing a chiller for my system. I have a 150G tank on first floor. In the basement is the filtration system. it consists of a 17G sump and a 17G fuge and a 75G resrvoir that is about 2/3 full so I figure about 50G. it is then pumped back upstairs from reservoir to main tank. My heaters are in the res. I'm thinking tha I can get away with a 1/10hp chiller. I would run the water from the reservoir to the chiller and then back into the reservoir. Is my thinking sound? Thanks

What sort of lighting? What is your max temp right now? I would not go less than 1/5hp, your chiller will need to operate for much longer periods of time if you under size.

I would go stronger than 1/5 too. I use a 1/3 on my 125. JD
