has anyone used an LED strip (like the ones available on ebay) for actinics? i have a 56g (30x18x24) and was considering getting 1 or 2 LED strips instead of using pc or vho.
thanks, casey

wouldnt be strong enough to compete with your daylights IMHO.

Yep - I have some pretty strong 10mm 120 degree LED's in my moonlight bar, and they do nothing when my T5's are lit up.

Now, when I did a test run without the reflectors . . . you could in fact slightly see the bluish tint over the 11K bulbs. I can't imagine they could compete with MH, but maybe a bunch of them on a nano lit by PC or something.

I have 10 LED's on my 90 and you cannot see them when my lights are on. Definitly not bright enough, but they make great moon lights. If you can get ones that you can spread out on your canopy so they arnt all bunched up, up to you I guess.
