What type of snails do you prefer for diatom control in a reef aquarium?

Nerita sp.
Turbo sp.
Trochus sp.
or Astrea sp.?

I prefer Nertia due to their small size, and the Pacific variety is usually more colorful.

I started out with Margarita snails and an abalone to control my diatoms. They never made a dent in it but were always working on it, mostly on the glass. Recently I got ~12 nerites snails and changed my filter setup and my diatoms are gone....like disappeared overnight. Dont know if it was the nerites or the new filter setup......but I think my abalone starved to death yesterday.....no diatoms to eat.
