I had a out break of flatworms. My lfs gave me a couple of yellow damsels as a last resort before flatworm exit...TTo make a long story short, they worked andnow that I want to start stocking my tank I should get the damsels out....How exactly would one go about this? I have about 90lbs of live rock for them to hide in so this will not be easy. Or should I just leave them in....

You have to take out all of the rock.Damsels are about as smart as sea life gets.I personally like them.

If you're going to house larger and/or aggressive fish don't worry about it. You'll only need to take them out if you want more passive tankmates.

If you want them out - try using a fish trap. I've also heard of people netting them when the lights first come on in the morning - the fish aren't fully "awake" yet and aren't as quick.

You all know me. You know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for ya, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish! Not like goin' down to the pond chasing bluegills or tommycats. This Damsel will swallow you whole.

Damsel started nipping at my female maroon clown. I tried everything from number 24 fly fishing hooks to moving rock. My lfs had a trap he let me use. Took 3 days, but that litlle bugger finally cracked and swam in the trap. GOTCHA!!!! He has been safely returned to the fish shop.
Thanks
