So I wake up in the middle of the night and I can't get back to sleep so I decide to take a look at my tank with a flashlight. While looking at one piece of rock I noticed this little thing that kinda looks like a shrimp. My question: Good Shrimp or Bad Shrimp?http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g211/netsecpro/Shrimp.jpg

Looks like a pod to me, but it's hard to tell. If it's 'C' shaped and scuttles over the rocks, and around 1cm long or less, it's probably an amphipod. Not only harmless, but beneficial and a wonderful source of food for the fish :)

It's a shame they only come out at night when my clowns are sleeping.

Hi. They are harmless amphipods. I emailed a picture of one from my tank to an ID person I know, and she told me it was a great sign of a healthy tank.

Yes, a harmless Gammaridean amphipod.
