Neptunes has a tank of live brine shrimp. Petco or Petsmart (can't remember which) have brine shrimp egg/hatching kits. I think they hatch in a couple days in a separate tank or container.

I have BS hatchery but they are so small the ponies don't see them

I do find their ad a little bit funny though: "guaranteed alive, disease free, and of the finest gourmet quality." I never knew brine shrimp were considered gourmet food. Give me Chinese food any day.

I thought they grew after hatching, but I don't know what you'd feed them.

You feed them phyto. I am growing my own phyto and some how some brine shrimp got into the bottles. They grew big in there, but eventually crashed the system because I never changed the water out. I have read to grow them big you need to do a lot of water changes. I think my phyto culture is finally coming back from that. Murf what hatching technique do you use to hatch your baby brine? ie lightning time, salinity

Well, lik eI said, you can always get live brine shrimp from Neptunes if you don't want to raise your own.

I ran a hatchery in the seahorse tank. They hatch about 3 days in and find their way into the tank on their own.

Oh ok, Is it that one that suctioncups to the tank? I am using a different one if that is what you are using. I am scared to use the one that sits in the tank. I do not want the egg shells in the tank. I have read bad things about that.

LOL the egg shells fall to the bottom of the hatchery and the shrimp swim out toward the top and the light. GO TO THE LIGHT, GO TO THE LIGHT......

You could use decapsulated eggs, where the shell has been removed. I think Brine Shrimp Direct is carrying them now (at least they said they will soon), or you can make your own (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/FA023).

I am good, Anthony, thanks for the offer though. The ponies are eating and I just ordered some glass shrimp for them to snack on.
