what do you guys think about either this aquamedic unit from ebay:

"
The Biostar Flotor is a combination of a powerful motor driven protein skimmer with the Biorotor biological filter. It is designed for salt water aquariums up to 250 l (c. 65 gal). It is the smallest commercially manufactured complete filter system for salt water aquariums
....
With the Biostar Flotor the new trend in marine aquaria, the Microreef and Nanoreef aquariums can be successfully achieved. The skimming capacity of the system is large enough for dense stocking levels, even with fast growing SPS corals.
....
- protein skimmer with venturi pump (Ocean Runner PH 2000, 9 watts with Needle Wheel)

- Biorotor system creating exceptional biological capacity with enhanced oxygen uptake as the bacteria are alternately emersed and submersed.

or the tunze nano reefpack from marinedepot:

I can't decide. Both companies have pretty good reputations, and my tank can handle either unit (intank or hob).

I've heard great things about the Tunze Nano Skimmer.

really? I was trying to find info about them when they first kinda hit the market and all I can say is that info was scarce.

BTW this is going on my tank which holds about 15 gallons of water. Tanks is littered with SPS frags wich have been doing good so far without a skimmer for 2-3 months.

go with the Tunze, I've seen it used on a few tanks and it is really quiet, yet pulls out a fair amount

The pic you have shows the Tunze skimmer and nano filter, the skimmer itself is only half as wide. Just to throw a monkey wrench in the works I thought I woulod also point out that the new Nano-Remora from AquaC is going to be available anytime now from MarineDepot, according to AquaC they have already been shipped to them and should be on the website any time now.

Yes, the nano remora is coming out, but it is the same price as the regular remora. The only difference is the height (the nano is to accomodate shorter tanks) IMO, go with the tunze or a remora.

Hi folks this is auntievan I'm on slippers pc. I purchased the tunze nano due to the fact I've always figured they are one of the best....but....after initial use and even getting advise for a bit of a mod to help it along I am disapointed. I pulled it off the tank and went with a coralife 65. I really feel I totally waisted my 135 bucks.

I'm not a Marcus Vick fan. I'm going there next year, and I'm very glad Tech kicked him out. What a pathetic young man.

Hey, at least we won our bowl game!

hmmm. Is it because it is just too small of a reaction chamber to be an efficient skimmer?

Won digity, I have absolutely no idea. Now that you mention it that...and the need of possibly a more powerful pump. All I know is I really wanted it to work.
