Can anyone ID this hitchiker? When I got this sun polyp coral I thought this was just part of the rock it was growing on. Then I noticed that it moves when I approach with a turkey baster to feed the coral. The movement is so slight it's hard to detect. But it looks like there is a slit opening on the right of the image which closes when I come close.

My guess is a turkey wing or some sort of mollusk.

Do you have a suggestion about how to remove it? It looks like it is growing as part of the rock, unlike a snail you can just pull off.

You could cut it away,it would have a "foot' like a clam.

I should have asked, will it harm anything if I just leave it alone? Will it cause the polyps not to open all the way? Or will it eventually grow over the coral?

Thanks

If it is a turkey wing..they don't get very big. I would'nt mess with it,if it does'nt seem to be causing a problem.
