Ok..

my new tank is 96x30x30

E-Sump sump.. 36x16x16

Total water volume almost 400 gallons

It's a fish only, but I will have some soft corals...

Gen4x skimmer
UV/Chiller/OceanClear canister filter for "polish"

I wanted thoughts on some things..

Should I get a denitrifier?? Any recommendations??
Should I get a phospate remover as well?

Then, onto the sand bed...

And thoughts on Bio Balls..

Would 3 - 4 inches of sand be enough? Or should I go deeper?
Should I put bioballs in the sump??

I will have 300+ lbs of liverock in the tank shortly..

I hear phosban reactors work very well. I'm considering adding one myself. I can't say anything about denitrifiers. I don't know anyone personally who uses one of the reactors... Fuges are good denitrifiers. My sand bed is about 2 in deep.

BioBalls definitely thumbs DOWN...

Denitrifiers, not really necessary.

Phosphate reactor also not necessary with this new Iron oxide media:

by the way i made a large reactor... i removed it and no change in nitrate levels... thus my large plenum works fine .. i spent a lot of time tweaking the thing.... you can see pics of it on my photos.. click on the WWW icon.

is rowaphose a iron oxide based product.?

Rowaphos is an iron oxide hydroxide (GFO), yes. I am in the process of comparing several brands of GFO. :)
