Does anyone have experience with this setup and whether it is good? I have a Ehiem 2215 filled with 7lbs of live rock rubble that was recommended by a Big Al's employee. It wasn't the first time I was recommended to do this but I decided to give it a try vs. my Emporer mech filter. I will only have live rock and a skimmer as filtration and will occasionally place some foam over the intake screen when I blow detritus from the rocks.

good morning shawngt2, sound like the berlin method here your trying. sounds good to me just have a nice sized skimmer for export of nutrients and your on your way, hope this helps...

I use that method on my other 29G and works very well. :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty confident with this method. I'm also wondering if pods or anything living will breed in there. I know they must pass through the propeller to escape.. But I wonder what the odds are...
