Can the AquaMedic Compact UV sterilizer be adjusted to have the input or output be "moved" into a different position? So as to come up with different options of plumbing designs?

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the AquaMedic Compact UV Sterilizer. The input and output on this unit are in a fixed position and therefore they cannot be adjusted to accommodate different plumbing designs. If we can be of any further assistance please contact us at 1-800-334-3699 (8am -10pm cst), PM or e-mail us at CustomerService@liveaquaria.com. Thank you.

Another question for this sterilizer: Is the recommended water flow through the sterilizer optimal between 200 and 300 gallons per hour, or must this rate be strictly adhered to? The reason I am asking is that my sump return pump has a flow of 236 gph and I don't want to have to restrict some flow to lower the gph as this is hard on pumps. In other words: can this sterilizer handle 236 gallons per hour?

the cattleman,
The recommended flow through the UV sterilizer should be followed, though if you were to slow the flow rate through the UV sterilizer this will increase the effectiveness of the UV sterilizer. The longer the amount of time the water is being exposed to the UV light, the more killing power is available. If the optimal flow through the UV sterilizer is 200-300 gph, you are able to have the flow through the UV sterilizer at 236 and the sterilizer will still be effective in your aquarium.
If we can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to contact our Live Aquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699 or via email at customerservice@liveaquaria.com and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I goofed. The sterilizer I have in question has a recommended flow of 100-200 gph. Will a flow of 236 gph damage this sterilizer or just make it less effective?

The cattlemen,
Because the sterilizer has a recommended flow of 100-200 gph a flow rate of 236 gph would be extremely inefficient, perhaps with no effect at all.
