so it would not be good to start with a shark egg then after a while tranfer him to a bigger tank?

most people say 1lb per gl is this the correct amount?

Most sharks grow far too large for any but the largest tanks. One pound per gallon sounds absurdly high to me. Did you mean 1" per gallon? That's also far too high, IMO, for almost any fish.
