Hi,

i recently bought a Banggai Cardinal fish and well he doesnt seem to be eating. I currently have a Chevron Tang, Yellow Tang, Manadarin Gobby, and a True Percula Clown. When i go to feed them they all eat as normal, however i know the cardinal fish is a bit odd only because he just sits in the water and doesnt swim around a lot. anyhow when i feed the cardinal banggai does not even move, when, how and what does he eat... Is there something he is doing at night to get fed?

Any help would be great. As for foods i use i use frozen shrimp, as well as dry foods parts 1 and 2.

Thanks.

Your feeding him right. Banggias are a hardy fish, I am supprosed he is not eating. I would give him some time to adjust to the new tank. They are not big swimmers from what I have seen.

They don't swim around much at all. Its normal for them not to eat when they are new to a tank, just give it some time.

Watch them at night shortly after the lights go out. Mine were not eating during the first couple of weeks when I got them too. But when the moonlights are on, I noticed that they moved around at night and appeared to be eating stuff in the water column. They are pretty good at seeing in the dark.

good advice from everyone.
Usually these fish take a few days to settle in. What I find helps is to use meaty foods, like PE mysis or ocean plankton.
If you haven't read this article on banggais you might find it helpful
