Im just waiting for the cycle to finish on my 45 gallon, (48x18x12) Right now i have an eheim 820 and a aquaclear 20 or somthing that i had around. Would one more eheim be enough? And how should i have it positioned, right now it has the direction nozzle on the bottom, shold i take that off. haha AND should it be aimed at the glass to create a more random flow.

I like to face a couple of mine on the surface or facing up to get the top water rippling for oxygenation

I suggest that you have a total of about 25 to 30 in gph to the 45-gallons of your tank. The Eheim 820 is rated at 820 gph, so I'd recommend that you get a Seio 620 instead. The kind of flow that the Seio will provide is preferable to the kind the Eheim will produce and you don't need as much more flow as another Eheim 820 would give since you already have probably 1000 gph of flow with the Eheim you have already plus the Aquaclear. If you get rid of that Aquaclear, then add a Seio 820 to the Eheim 820 that you now have.

I think they call that a brain f%$t. Hehe...well, then, just add another Seio 620 or even an 820 and you'd be in good shape.
