That sounds about right......I replace about 4-5 gallons every 5-6 days or so....and that is for about 100 gallons of volume with my system.

Look at getting an auto top off set-up to automate this. You can make your own, or buy them depending on how handy you are...............and

my 75 is open top, except at night (gotta keep the eel in), tank between 77-80 room is air temp and humidity same as outside. right now i replace almost 1 gallon a day but in 1-2 months i can do as much as almost 2 gallons. am thinking about getting a kalkwasser stirrer with auto top up in the next couple of months.

6 gallons every 2 days before adding a chiller and using fans over the sump and in the canopy for cooling. Now 5 gallons every 4 days with a chiller set at 79.

Sump or not, evaporation is going to occur.....using fans will increase evaporation as well.

Not having a sump, IMO, means having all the stuff actually in the tank (heaters, skimmer pumps/returns, etc.), or if you go skimmerless, more water changes may be in order.

I also have the one from autotopoff.com....nice and simple..., there are many others out there in all price ranges.

Currently 2-3 gallons a day with fans on the sump.

now that its warming up i put a 16 inch fan at one end so it cools the lights also increasing evaporation from the surface. if i leave for work in the morning and the tank is dark and 79 degrees, by the evening with lights having been on starting 8am actinics and 11 am halides at about 8 pm the tanks temp will usually be 75-76. don't need a chiller. and the fans only on medium.
