Direction of fans to cool tank

Would anyone know if fans installed in hoods of a MH system does a better job if aimed into the water, blowing underneath the light parallel to the hood, or directed right at the light itself?

I have my fans blowing directly into my canopy (mounted on the side of my canopy). Seems to work fine...

If you are cooling the canopy and lighting, blowing along the length wit hexit holes up high in back or on top works best. If cooloing the water surface blowing across the water surface works best. Wal Mart clip on fans for $8 work great over a tank or sump for cooling the water.
