I will have a 200-250G tank soon and it will be placed in the small bedroom of my condo, if I put a powerfull dehumidifier (60-80G/day) in the room, will it be enough to not have mold problems??

IMO, it would. I only use my dehumidifier when the AC is not running and it's over 80 outside. Then things start to get a little sticky in the fish room. Of course, in the winter, humidity is not a problem at all for me.

Unless you vent the dehumidifier to the outside, you may have heat issues in the room.

Cool.

I have a 30000BTU A/C unit in the living room and it's pretty close to the tank room...I guess I should be ok with the heat especialy in winter since we have it pretty damn cold up here ;)

I do have a window in the room but not sure how I would be able to vent out the air... I'm not even sure if I can have anything sticking out of windows any per the condo rules...

Which brand humidifer are you using and what's the gpd on it?

Have similar concerns. How do you keep mold out due to moisture? Is dehumidifer way to go or are there other ways? Also at what size tank do you start to worry about it?

I assume you meant 60-80 pints per day, not gallons?
That would be one monstrous dehumidifier...
The biggest residential unit I've seen is 17 gallons per day and that is good for a whole house up to 3200 sq ft.

I have mold problems in the winter when my a/c isn't running and the moisture just builds up in the house.
Mainly around the windows where the condensation collects.
A dehumidifier is probably the only answer.

Dehumidifiers don't work for me as I have too much open water in the house. 590g tanks plus sumps, brine shrimp room with 3X55g, a 35, a 32, and 9X20g containers.
My ceilings were rotting, doors and window rotting and I had to replace them all.
I installed an HRV in the basement and now everything works great.

I have about 400 gallons in the fishroom right now and it will hit 1000 once everything is up and running. There is a dehu that I run and keeps it down quite a bit, around 36% humidity. As I understand it over 50% and mold can grow. I am putting in a venting system before the 220 goes up. This will be 4" duct work vented to the outside with 3 intakes. At each intake will have a 4" vent fan. I was thinking about hooking it up to a humistat, but will more than likely just have it one 24/7 during the summer. Total cost is about $100. This idea comes from a MI reefer who did this in his basement and it worked great.
