First post here, been a lurker...

Anyway, have hooked up a Hydor deflector a couple of inches below the stock output tube. Used a couple of sprinkler fittings I shopped around for. It was the most compact design I could find. But it still juts out way more than I would like.

Pictures here make me believe someone has found a better way. I rarely can ever use the search function, so going from memory on what threads I've stumbled into.

Any ideas on mounting the Hydor as close to the back wall will be greatly appreciated.

I cut out a hole the diamater of a piece of 45 degree pvc in my 12 gallon DX. Then I painted the pvc. I connected tubing and a 90 degree barb fitting to my maxi jet 1200. From there I painted the 45 degree pvc black with krylon fusion. I super glued in the pieces that hold the hydroflo in place. I then positioned the 45 degree pvc with hydroflo connected towards the middle of the tank. All you see is an extension of the hydroflo about and inch from the back wall pointed to the middle of the tank. I dremeled off the sides of the hydroflo and then siliconed it in place. Works great and is really cheap!

I just put it on the regular output, but I don't like it there because it makes a big pile of sand in the middle of my tank.
I would like to do something like edwar050.
