Its ok to dose it to raise the solubility of it. But, if overdosed bacteria can reduce oxygen to life threatening levels. Especially at night.

I would not recommend it to a beginner. And its use is not that signifigant for extra calcium and alkalinity.

If your goal is to improve kalkwasser's ability, then just increase the rate at wich the water enters the aquarium. A good way is to increase evaporation, by the use of a fan.

It is an OK thing to do if you need more calcium and alkalinity and limewater can deliver, or if you have the ph rising above 8.5 and need that much limewater. Otherwise, I wouldn't't add it.
