Not to bad for a tank that size-
120 Softie tank 200$ for tank
lights were 300$
Skimmer 100
sump with mag pump 100
stand and canopy 200
fish and coral 300
everything else DIY 300
so about 1500-
it costs about 40$'s a month to run depending on time of year-

I have to brag. A friend of my wives is getting divorced so they had to seel this tank off for cheap money.
For $500 I got a 145 gallon setup. This included $600 lighting, $500 fuge/sump, tank & stand about 100 lbs live rock, live sand, a few hundred $ worth of fish (whale tang, yellow tang, flame angel, fox face, red clown and more), plus the clean up crew.

125 gallon. Spent somewhere around..............ohhhhh.....I hate to think about it. Most certainly over $5,000 so far. I'm not married and have no kids (go ahead and live vicariously through me!!), so I can splurge on pretty much anything I want. I sold my car (my other hobby), so I have to spend what I make somewhere.

450 reef + 180 sump. All told about $20k. Monthly costs about $200.
180 FOWLR + 30 sump. Originally set up as a reef, it would be unfair to include the items used for the reef and since sold. About $3k, I think. Monthly costs are negligible.
40 Seahorse + 10 sump. About $1000 to setup with all equipment. Monthly costs are negligible.
